Pojem “hybrid” je možné vnímať z rôznych pohľadov. V určitých kontextoch má negatívnu konotáciu, v iných skôr neutrálnu, ale existujú aj veľmi pozitívne kontexty “hybridu”. V mojej semestrálnej práci chcem podčiarknuť vnímanie hybridu v pozitívnom zmysle. Čerpala som od teoretika Homi K. Bhabha, z jeho textov o kulturálnej hybridite a “third space,” ktorý má “kreatívne kapacity.” Základom mojej práce je koncept preskúmania kreatívnych kapacít tretieho priestoru, myšlienka spojenia dvoch odlišností, zmena tradičných a ustálených foriem bytia. Snažím sa ilustrovať proces hybridizácie, zachytiť jeho kľúčové momenty. Chcem zdôrazniť, že hybrid je dôležitý, lebo s nim dokážeme zobraziť autentickejší obraz. Hybrid v tomto projekte symbolizuje pestrosť oproti iba čierno-bielym vnímaním, pre transparentnú komunikáciu sú podstatné všetky odtiene farebnej škály. Transparentnosť by mala byť základnou morálnou hodnotou ľudskej spoločnosti.

The notion of “hybrid” has several possible interpretations. In some contexts, “hybrid” evokes negative, in others neutral or even positive connotations. In my semestral work I would like to emphasise these positive connotations. In his texts about cultural hybridity, the critical theorist Homi K. Bhabha talks about a “third space” that has “creative capacities.” My project aims to explore these creative capacities, the possibilities of joining together things with distinct nature and the results of modifying traditional or established matters. I wanted to illustrate the key moments of the process of hybridisation and underline its importance, because hybrid gives us opportunity to draw a more authentic picture about the reality. Therefore, in this project hybrid is a symbol of “variety” as an opposite of “black and white,” because in order to communicate transparently, we need all the shades of the color scale. Transparency should be one of the fundamental moral values of society.
